Stargate Universe
Yeah. The Ori were a wasted concept, and to this day I'm still somewhat confused about the Wraith. They were just not presented well, I guess.
One thing I really didn't like about Stargate, however, was the fact that after...how many years since the first travel to Abydos, 15-18? That for some reason, despite manufacturing 5+ interstellar starships and a slew of outer space fighter jets, and despite so many other events on Earth that should've alerted at least one person (putting it extremely lightly), the Stargate still isn't known by anyone besides the US/Russian government/military, and a select few other politicians. What's more, it's still kept secret. It just defies suspension of disbelief; you can't hold something like that secret for very long once so many people know about it, as the chaos factor just grows too high. Someone's bound to leak it at some point.
Oh well, end rant. I just hope they don't milk Universe and lead it to the same end Star Trek had. That would give me a very big sadface. :-\

Hmm, I just checked and you're right. Though it seems some professional audio programs won't even allow you to save in anything but PCM uncompressed; I need to check with my university's ProTools setup to make sure of this.

I've always liked Fighting of the Spirit in Tales of Phantasia. Has that "heroic" theme going for it.
Stargate Universe
I'm really not confident about a third series; the last two seasons of SG-1 weren't too spectacular, and Atlantis had a lot of filler which brought it down quite a bit.
Chopsticks? Have you ever used them?
It took me awhile way back when I was younger to get myself accustomed to chopsticks, but after that, they became just as easy to use as any other western utencil. It's almost like holding a pen or pencil, except I eat with it instead of write. :P
Midi's Versus MP3s
Generally, WAVs are uncompressed MS Windows audio files. If a WAV is compressed, it is technically no longer a WAV. There are different methods and algorithms, such as PCM and ADPCM, which can differ in sound filesizes, but other than that there is no compression scheme used.
MIDIs have excellent filesizes for their function, but have the flaw of being dependent on whatever synthesizer driver the end-user is running. Usually it's the default Wavetable that comes with Windows, but that can vary if the user has a special sound card. And damn, can alot of MIDIs sound completely foreign on different synthesizers...
MP3s/OGGs/<insert compression codec here> on the other hand can potentially have huge filesizes, but if one compressed it properly (i.e. low-range VBR, or if CBR must be used at most 128kbps, which is approximately 1 minute per megabyte in my experience) that may not be too much of an issue. You also have the advantage of consistency, where what you here is pretty much what the user hears. Not to mention all those cool sound effects like reverb. ;)

I am Atavus Dei, amateur (and practicing) writer and budding 3D artist, and someone who's actually been around for somewhat of awhile, though as a lurker. I've more or less floated around various sites in the RPG Maker community, and also experimented a little with the various RPG Makers (2000, 2003, VX) in the past, but have never actually joined a community of any kind until now. I figured it'd be about time I go to the next level and start off here. Always wanted to create a game of my own, and well, everyone here seems to share the same mindset. :)
Going deeper into the 3D aspect, I've learned plenty of Maya in the past year and a half, and am thinking of actually developing a webcomic in the future using it and other tools. I'm hoping to start learning Blender sometime soon, as I've heard alot of good things about it, not to mention it's completely free unlike the thousands of green gold Maya's highest package costs. 3D Studio Max is also something else that I want to get into at some point, as I've heard it's what game companies use as compared to Maya's fans in the film-making industry.
In addition, I'm also a techie of sorts, though mid-to-high level (not really heavily into IT stuff, though I know alot of advanced computing concepts and have built computers before). I'm interested in also learning some programming, though that is secondary compared to my desire to do artwork.
I heard you guys needed reviewers for games; well, I'm up for the task. I'll try to make them as informative (and entertaining) as they possibly can. :)
